PALESTINE COLLEGE. Memory, Identity, and Resistance in a Classic College Look.
At the center is the lettering PALESTINE, complemented by NAKBA EST. 1948. The design commemorates the Nakba, the great catastrophe of 1948, during which hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were displaced, and numerous Palestinian towns were destroyed or depopulated.
The motif stands for the remembrance of those affected and for the ongoing consequences of the Nakba: displacement, land theft, settler violence, and settler terrorism. It combines Palestinian identity with the demand for remembrance, justice, and a life in freedom and self-determination.
