The Story Behind HURRA
This T-shirt is inspired by Saja Kilani's poem "Our Women." In it, she tells of Palestinian women who provide medical care under occupation, build schools, feed their families, and stand up against oppression with their art and voices. They preserve memories and pass on language, knowledge, and culture to the next generation.
The woman with the Kufiya on the back is dedicated to these women. Her gaze meets ours directly. For us, she represents the right to co-determine one's own life and the future of one's own country. It is about recognizing what Palestinian women achieve and about a future in which their daily lives are no longer determined by occupation and displacement.
