The large front design on the hoodie carries the words NETANYAHU, YOU WILL SEE – PALESTINE WILL BE FREE. Clear typography and the colours of the Palestinian flag turn the phrase into an unmistakable political message. The design links personal responsibility with the promise that occupation, apartheid and oppression will not have the final word.
The Story Behind the Design
The words address Benjamin Netanyahu directly and set a clear vision of the future against his policies: Palestine will be free. They express the conviction that occupation, displacement, disenfranchisement and genocidal violence cannot erase Palestinian identity, resistance or the hope for self-determination.
On 21 November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu. The judges found reasonable grounds to believe that he is responsible for the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare, intentionally directing attacks against the civilian population, and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution and other inhumane acts. An arrest warrant is not a final conviction; the Court continues to list Netanyahu as at large.
The design names Netanyahu because, as Israeli prime minister, he held far-reaching decision-making power and bears central political responsibility for decisions that destroy Palestinian lives and violate fundamental rights. At the same time, the message addresses the wider political and military system that organises and sustains occupation, Israeli apartheid, displacement and the destruction of Palestine. Responsibility does not end with one individual.
NETANYAHU, YOU WILL SEE – PALESTINE WILL BE FREE is both an accusation and a promise for the future. The words insist that oppression will not last forever and that Palestinians have the right to live freely, with dignity and self-determination in their land.
